Water Damage
These pictures show what happens when your chimney crown doesn't keep the water out.

Eventually the rainwater and weather will deteriorate the top of the chimney and allow the water to get through to the brick. Then the faces of the brick start popping off and the mortar will deteriorate to the point that the brick needs to be replaced. A quality crown will eliminate the deterioration.

Top of chimney in bad shape? Let us fix it up for you.

These photos show a chimney where it made the most sense to replace the entire top. Notice that we used a bond break and a set of forms which allowed us to pour an entire new crown on top of the old one in a manner that the new one won't crack. This repair will last an extremely long time. If your chimney crown is not in this bad of shape, there are less involved and simpler ways to patch and repair smaller cracks.
